Ozempic Lawsuit

At Flint Cooper, we are committed to upholding the rights of individuals who have been adversely affected by Ozempic, a drug that is prescribed to patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. In some cases the drug is also prescribed off-label as a weight loss drug. Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Ozempic, is accused of withholding information regarding the potential risks of using the drug, such as gastroparesis, gallstones, gallbladder disease, often requiring the surgical removal of one’s gallbladder, and several other health conditions.

These allegations highlight a breach of trust between Novo Nordisk and the patients who have been treated using their drug, Ozempic, as patients were blindsided by the health complications that have now been linked to the drug.

If you have been prescribed Ozempic and believe that you have suffered from gastroparesis, gallbladder disease or other health complications as a result, you may be entitled to compensation. We encourage you to schedule a free consultation with Flint Cooper at +1 618.288.4777 to discuss your legal options and potential recourse.

Functions and Risks of Ozempic

Ozempic, generically known as semaglutide, is a prescription medication for managing type 2 diabetes, and belongs to a class of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Developed by Novo Noridsk, Ozempic received FDA approval in December 2017.

Ozempic, along with other GLP-1 drugs, stimulates insulin production after meals, aiding in blood sugar control. It is administered as a weekly injection ranging from 0.25mg to a maximum dose of 1mg.

Do I Qualify To File an Ozempic Lawsuit?

If you have been prescribed Ozempic and subsequently suffered from gallbladder disease, biliary issues or any other Ozempic related health complications, you may qualify to file an Ozempic lawsuit. It is possible that you may not qualify if you had gastric bypass surgery, gastric banding or gastric sleeve surgery before taking Ozempic. Only a licensed Ozempic attorney can determine whether or not you qualify.

The statute of limitations for filing an Ozempic lawsuit varies by state, so time may be limited. Contact our experienced Ozempic attorneys to begin the process as soon as possible.
